Gentoos first arrived at Port Lockroy in the 1980s and have beencoming back every year since then to nest and raise their chicks. Curious,friendly and colourful, they are the fastest-swimming diving birds in theworld, their flippers and streamlined bodies helping them reach speeds of up to22 miles an hour.
