An original watercolour of a gentoo penguin, hand-painted by Orkney-based artist, Una Hurst.

Gentoos first arrived at Port Lockroy in the 1980s and have been returning every year since to nest and raise their chicks. Curious, friendly and colourful, they are the world's fastest-swimming diving birds with their flippers and streamlined bodies helping them reach speeds of up to 22mph/35kmh.
