Port Lockroy’s sheltered harbour has offered refuge on the Antarctic Peninsula for generations. Established in 1944, Base A was Britain’s first permanent Antarctic base. Inside the beautifully restored Bransfield House, now a remarkable time capsule of an early Antarctic research station, the Warm Room recalls the comfort and camaraderie of life at this remote outpost.
