Curtis, M.L.. 2011 Geological Map of South Georgia. BAS GEOMAP 2. Cambridge, British Antarctic Survey.
This single-sided geological map of South Georgia covers the entire island and also outlying islands to the west. South Georgia forms part of a microcontinental block situated along the eastern extent of the North Scotia Ridge. Geological correlations with southernmost South America and tectonic reconstructions of the Scotia Sea indicate that South Georgia was originally an easterly extension of a Late Jurassic to Early Cretaceous marginal basin.
The map includes four geological cross sections across key areas of the island and a detailed inset geological map of the Cumberland Bay area.
