Overlooking Dorian Bay, Damoy’s bright orange hut once provided temporary refuge for travellers bound further south. Fondly known as “the world’s most southerly waiting room”, it served as an airport on ice, where men waited for Twin Otter aircraft to carry them deeper into Antarctica.
